Meet the Team
Rachel Taylor
Lead Pastor
Rachel is part of the original team that planted Lakepoint back in 2008 and has served on staff since then. She has worn many hats, most recently as Executive Pastor. However, in June 2022 she became Lead Pastor at Lakepoint.
She and her husband, Ryan, have three adult children, Brenden, Ashley and Jordan. In her downtime, Rachel enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading, date nights with her husband and dreaming about her next Pinterest project.

Amy Smith
Children’s Ministry Director
Amy accepted Jesus into her heart at the age of seven and has been volunteering in Children’s Ministry since before she was out of elementary school herself.
She has been the Children’s Ministry Director at Lakepoint since 2014 and oversees the children from birth through 5th grade. Amy works closely with the Children’s Ministry team of volunteers and parents to plan curriculum and KidZone events throughout the week.
As a wife and mom, Amy’s has a deep passion for seeing families walk closely with Jesus. She and her husband, Joshua, enjoy spending time with family, raising their two daughters, and building community around them.

Joshua Smith
Associate Pastor
Joshua has been on staff since late 2019. Joshua is a husband to his beautiful wife Amy and father to two wonderful kids – Sophie and Elenora. As a husband, father, and minister, one of his deepest desires is for his life to be entirely centered around Jesus. He is passionate about people experiencing a transformed life through union with Jesus.
In his free time, Joshua loves to play with his kids and spend time with his wife. He also loves playing music, learning, and eating tasty food.
Currently, Joshua is studying at Reach Training Institute.

Tiffany Sparks
Admin/Tech Assistant
Tiffany has been on staff part-time since August 2015. Her current role is that of IT and special projects including website management, volunteer coordinating, set-up/tear-down liaison, and various other administrative responsibilities.
She is a transplant from Southern California and a graduate from U of O. She spends her time traveling, sipping tea, and teaching her socially-inept chihuahua, Chai, to be a dog.

Joseph Zysk
Youth Ministry Director
Joseph Zysk has been on staff since January 2024. Originally from Idaho, Joseph moved to Oregon for college in 2018 and fell in love with the Keizer/Salem area, calling it home.
Joseph has been involved in youth ministry for over eight years and loves teaching and mentoring the youth at Lakepoint! Joseph’s heart and calling is to lead others to experience the radical and amazing love of Jesus Christ in their lives!
In his free time, Joseph loves drinking coffee, watching movies, reading/writing, having fun, and having amazing conversations!

Jacob Shute
Sound Tech
Jacob moved to Oregon from Massachusetts in 2020 to study Christian ministry at the Reach Training Institute. He is passionate about sound, tech, and people and is excited that he can utilize these gifts at Lakepoint since June of 2023.
Jacob spends his days studying for class, spending time with his wife, Winter, and fiddling with projects around the house. He enjoys getting a cup of coffee with friends to nerd out about anything from theology to sound boards!
